Don't fool yourself. Africa is not a hopeless case. Africa is not a country, but a continent with fifty-four countries. The West would like to perpetuate a stereotype to justify neo-colonialism to pacify their curious people. The East is joining the racial profiling bandwagon. Both at their peril. Some Western countries leech on Africa, their survival as vibrant societies depending on Africa. No matter what propaganda and machinations are wrought upon this continent of immense beauty and resources endowment Africa will continue to rise. These poems try to give the world a small view of Africa that is buried in the cacophony of negative. Come be black with me, for me, and with me. Welcome to Mama Africa. Titambire. Svikayi zvenyu. (You are welcome!)
