Sem qualquer desejo de depreciarmos ou menosprezarmos o papel preponderante da razão em todo e qualquer processo de compreensão dos fenómenos, a problemática referente às «patologias» africanas exige que convoquemos outros campos do saber para o seu esclarecimento adequado. Convoquemos apenas o contrário do «consciente», isto é, o «inconsciente» como possível lugar susceptível de fornecer respostas que ultrapassam o campo limitado do consciente ou do mero exercício da razão.
