This book is written based on personal research into the idea of success outside of the western world. Different facets of society define success in different ways, I will not be assuming the western world is an exemplification of success. I have had the opportunity to share almost equal halves of my life in two different parts of the world; Africa and Europe respectively. Therefore, this opportunity has given me a unique perspective to understand that a successful African society will occur differently to the presumptuous definitions one might have. Because of this, I will generate what I accept as my definition of success. I believe that for the reason of this book, success is giving people equal opportunities to make the best of what they can out of life, without interfering with their uniqueness. To expatiate, I will use the example of a plant, I believe that for a plant to grow, it needs to be provided with good soil, access to sunlight, water, regular weeding, and maybe manure or fertilizer. I believe that without these basic needs, the plant has limited opportunity to succeed. Therefore, in the same vein, I believe that for Africa to be successful, it will need to inculcate a few basic human needs and wants discussed in this book to begin her journey towards success.
