In reference to East Africa,the book examines Afrotheist Beliefs as it co-exists in a symbiotic relationship with Christianity and Islam.Christianity seemed to be at times in an ectosymbiosis association with Afrotheism; that is, living on it; by introducing the concept of the Creator in the same terms used by local groups. In some cases, rather than die Afrotheism established a sort of endosymbiosis with Christianity, that is living inside it.While Islam also established s similar ectosymbiosis with Afro-ethnic religion, it could live on it, by Islamizing communities rather than individuals.
